He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1986 and began his career shortly thereafter. Dan is passionate about helping clients understand their financial life and providing them the tools aimed at reaching their goals and achieving their dreams. Dan's strength is in breaking down complex financial concepts into an understandable format. In his spare time, Dan serves as a certified International Judge for men's gymnastics. Dan has been married to his wife Sue for 34 years and they have two children, Callie and Austin.

As a trusted advisor, Steve works to guide his clients through the many obstacles and challenges as they seek to achieve personal financial independence. Steve obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Cedarville University in 1997. Steve has satisfied education, examination, experience, and ethics requirements for CFP® certification. He is also a former board member of the Financial Planning Association of Iowa.

Joel Hall has joined Guide Financial Group after serving for six years as a police officer for the Ankeny Police Department. He has a passion for helping people and found the most rewarding part of his job was helping children caught in the middle of a crisis. After an evaluation of his long-term personal and professional goals, Joel left the force to serve others in a different way. He will now use his passion for helping people through his career in the financial industry. He hopes to help individuals and families achieve long-term financial success. Joel is gifted at connecting with people exactly where they are and communicating information that is relevant to their situation. He looks forward to helping clients discover their financial goals and providing them with the tools necessary to pursue those goals.

Joel grew up in Urbandale and is a graduate of Iowa State University. He and his wife, Angela, have four children. In his spare time, he enjoys swinging on swings and playing on the slides at the park. Of course, his daughters Natalie and Charlotte tag along on these trips, too. You can also find Joel relaxing and watching sports with his twins, Greta and Cooper. And on the rare occasion that all four of his children are napping at the same time, Joel himself likes to sneak naps in on Sunday afternoons with football on in the background. This might be why he admits he cannot live without Diet Mt. Dew or coffee. Joel believes the Des Moines area is a great place to raise a family and he looks forward to serving its residents.

Dave is a financial advisor who obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation. He joined Guide Financial Group in 2019. His passion is to help clients build wealth and protect the things that they love most. As a young man, Dave saw firsthand the incredible impact that professional financial help could have on a family. This experience was the catalyst that would lead him to pursue a career helping others work towards their financial goals and dreams.

Before joining Guide Financial Group, Dave spent 14 years at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as a mortgage consultant and manager. He graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College with a bachelor’s degree in English Education and was a member of the soccer team and student leadership. Dave attributes his experiences with athletics in high school and college as deeply formative for his personal work ethic, integrity, and commitment to continuous improvement.

A native of central New York, Dave has fond memories of family vacations in the Finger Lakes and attending Syracuse Orange basketball home games. He currently resides in Polk City with his wife, Amy, and their 4 children: Lily, Sophia, Luke, and Ryan. He is very active in his community and church, but in his free time he enjoys reading good books, trips to the movies, and exploring the outdoors with this family. Dave loves the ocean, so it’s no surprise that a trip to Fiji is on his bucket list. He is also a self-professed “foodie” and enjoys making delicious meals for his friends and family.

Callie Bachman, CFP®

Callie Bachman joined Guide Financial Group in 2021. She enjoys walking her clients through a comprehensive financial planning process to help them achieve their goals and objectives. One area of focus for her practice is assisting clients with continuity planning that flows from one generation to the next.

Callie has prior experience in the insurance industry, and before completing her college degree in England, was a professional ballet dancer with the New York City Ballet. An International trips with the Ballet Company gave her the travel bug, and she also enjoys attending concerts, cooking new recipes, and hanging with her dog, Josie.
